About Jimini Translations

My name is Marjette van Groenestijn. I completed a degree course at Katholieke Vlaamse Hogeschool in Antwerp, which is now called Lessius Antwerp (part of the Catholic University of Leuven), where I graduated with an MA in translation. Following a period in full employment as a translator, I started trading as a self-employed entrepreneur under the name Jimini Translations in 1999.

Marjette van GroenestijnJimini (the name was based on the initials of some colleagues) was the name of the frog that was sitting on the cupboard at the large translation company where we were working. It symbolized the independent translation company we used to talk and daydream about. I now run my own company, and I enjoy my work every day. I continue to relish the challenge of moulding a source text into a smooth-running target text, and to solve the puzzle in such a way that it feels right.

If you would like to see my full CV, please contact me and I will send it out to you as soon as possible. You can also find my CV on Proz.com.
